Protect the User Experience Going Forward

Hi Olight Team,

I deeply value our Olight community (people), the visuals, and the connections we share. I’ve been thinking about the future of your Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) platform.
Connecting a community feed directly to a storefront seems like a win-win situation (i.e., see a light, tap the light, buy the light): "tap-to-buy."

FYI: I am not even certain if you might be going this way or not.

On the surface, this seems like a neat idea, but it could become a turn-off.

For example: A major frustration for members in the current store environment is pop-up fatigue—ads and prompts that feel disruptive rather than helpful. When a space feels like a constant sales pitch, it stops feeling like a community.

It seems like Olight is attempting to build a unified community PLUS store space to bypass social media restrictions; the key to making it work (in my view) will be to respect the user's journey by putting people and value first:

  • Community: Give us an environment where we can enjoy the visuals, the gear photography, and the conversations without immediate commercial interruptions.

  • Incentives: like exclusive product drops

  • Products in Context: If a post features a light, a seamless 'tap-to-preview' or minimal detail card might allow a buyer to check product info without yanking them out of their social experience.

  • Mini Drawer: Possibly add a “Mini Drawer” that slides out so we can drop items there to explore later.

  • Quiet Notifications: Another idea would be to use quiet notifications that treat the DTC app like a gathering place, yet still provide info. A happy, engaged community naturally drives sales.

p.s. I posted this long post by going to "? BETA-Content Suggestions" .... but for the subject, it made me pick a category (i.e. Outdoor).
